Rebecca Mitchell, Artist
Rebecca (Becky) Mitchell's enthusiasm for painting began when her water color was selected to represent her elementary school at Philbrook Art Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since then her primary medium is oil paint. "I love the flow and variations of texture to accommodate the subject matter." In recent years she has studied with Elizabeth Bronson, Jef Strum, Gayle Fulwyler Smith, and workshops with Betsy Havens and James Calk in South Carolina and Alice Mumford at the St. Ives School of Painting in England.
Rebecca's work may be seen at the First Baptist Church in Jackson, Kentucky, the York Place Episcopal Children's Home in York, South Carolina,as well in private collections in Connecticut, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Germany.
